In the wake of recent events, it’s crucial to reflect on the current situation in Gaza and its implications for the wider Muslim Ummah. The question that looms large is whether a ceasefire is the right path, or should the resistance continue?
The truth is that the reality on the ground is much grimmer than it was pre-October 7th, with most of Gaza left decimated, and the people of Gaza now facing the possibility of being forced in to an even smaller area, meaning more land from Palestine taken away from the Muslims.
The Shattered Myth
One thing has become glaringly evident – the myth of “Israeli” invincibility has been shattered.
The recent events have exposed the cowardice of the oppressors who resort to bombings instead of facing their opponents man to man. Their lack of strategic planning and the sheer determination of Muslims are causing them to rethink their positions. The world at large is witnessing the Palestinian cause with sympathetic eyes, and this shift in narrative is noteworthy.
A Tipping Point for the Ummah
The wider Muslim Ummah is at a boiling point. The treachery of their rulers and regimes has been laid bare.
It’s now becoming a widely understood truth that the removal of the occupation must be through force. The expectations on the militaries of Muslim-majority nations have increased, and the false “Israeli” narrative has been effectively exposed. The Muslim Ummah unequivocally stands in support of the Palestinian cause because she understands that it is her cause, an Islamic cause.
The Consequences of Ceasefire
However, the question of a ceasefire is a contentious one. If a ceasefire were to occur, it’s feared that all the sacrifices made over the last month would go unacknowledged.
The resistance, which has been the beacon of hope, would potentially be replaced by puppet leaders like the Palestinian Authority leadership. The West Bank, which has already seen a significant deterioration over the last month, might continue to worsen. The desecration of Masjid Al-Aqsa would persist, if not intensify. The treacherous collaborating rulers would go back to normalisation, and the momentum built over the past month would be lost.
A Call to Action
The dilemma is a real one. While the Muslims in Gaza, who are on the frontlines, may accept a ceasefire due to their dire circumstances, it’s time for the wider Muslim Ummah to step up. The burden is shifting towards us, those who are far from the immediate suffering. We must not accept the calls for a ceasefire because the terms are in favour of the disbelievers who wish to end the Palestinian liberation cause once and for all.
We must acknowledge that our brothers and sisters in Gaza cannot bear this burden alone. It is our duty to stand in solidarity, and we must rally those who have the capabilities to put an end to this occupation in accordance with the Islamic solution and return the land of Palestine back to its rightful owners, the Islamic Ummah.
Conclusion
In these trying times, the decision to accept a ceasefire or to continue the resistance may not be a straightforward one on the face of it for those who are not aware of the consequences. But what has been mentioned should make it much clearer.
The sacrifices made by the people of Gaza must not be in vain, and it’s up to the wider Muslim Ummah to deeply embed that in their hearts and minds and shoulder their responsibilities. A ceasefire that equates to defeat is not the path we should tread. We must stand united in our resolve to support the oppressed and work towards a lasting solution that liberates Palestine from the clutches of occupation.
