Let’s take a moment to reflect on what’s been unfolding in the Middle East region, particularly in Syria. The Arab Spring, and now the Syrian struggle, have laid bare the weakness of these so-called regimes that claim to represent their people. We’ve seen their hollowness exposed—their armies, security forces, and leaders crumble when their foreign backers retreat. The fall of these tyrants should remind us of how fragile their grip on power truly is.

Do Not Let Euphoria Cloud Your Judgment

What’s happening in Syria—watching the downfall of Bashar al-Assad’s brutal regime, the release of innocent prisoners, and the humiliation of the regime’s enforcers—brings immense joy to the heart of any Muslim. But let’s not allow our celebration of this moment to blind us to the colonial plots at play. The US, “Israel,” and their allies are working behind the scenes to steer the outcome in their favour, under the guise of supporting the Syrian opposition.

Turkey’s involvement in operations like ‘Deterrence of Aggression’ is not as simple as it seems. It aligns with nationalist and secular agendas that ultimately intersect with American-Zionist interests. The war on Gaza, the so-called Abraham Accords, and the broader normalisation project are all interconnected. The West and its allies seek to weaken the concepts of Jihad and resistance—anything that stands in the way of submission to their control.

What’s truly alarming is how effortlessly they manipulate the narrative. By showcasing the Islamic character of the Syrian uprising, many Muslims have been led to believe this marks a victory for Islam. But is that truly the case? Can we honestly think that the same state actors who enabled opposition forces to rise in Syria would permit a genuine Islamic resurgence to take hold? Unfortunately, the reality seems far more calculated. This is not about establishing Islamic governance or uniting the Ummah. Instead, it is about dismantling Syria, fragmenting it along sectarian lines, and ensuring the security and dominance of the Zionist entity in the region.

Echoes of the Arab Spring Tactic

Even more troubling is how this façade is weaponised to pacify the Muslim masses, creating the illusion of progress while steering events to serve colonial interests. This strategy isn’t new—it mirrors the tactics used during the Arab Spring, where Islamic symbols were paraded to mask the underlying agenda of reshaping Muslim lands into pliant, secular states. It is a deliberate deception designed to obscure the ultimate goal: stripping Muslims of their ability to resist, while entrenching external control over their lands and resources.

Netanyahu himself boasted about how the fall of Assad creates “opportunities” for “Israel.” Not because Assad was ever a threat to the Zionist entity, but because this shift aligns with their strategic goals—weakening regional rivals like Iran and ensuring Syria remains disarmed and divided.

The tragedy is that while the people of Syria have paid a heavy price—over half a million lives lost, millions displaced, and countless others enduring torture and oppression—the sacrifices are being co-opted to pave the way for a new secular regime. And let’s be clear: replacing one form of secularism with another, dressed up in democratic language, is not what Islam calls for.

A Demand for Radical Change

The solution lies in uniting the Ummah under the banner of Islam, establishing a system of governance rooted in the Shari’ah of Allah (SWT).

The Qur’an is clear:

“Indeed, the command is for none but Allah”

We cannot settle for anything less than a complete uprooting of the oppressive systems of kufr, replacing them with the just and divine laws of Islam.

A message must be conveyed to the leaders of the armed factions: they must not betray their trust. They should reflect on the words of Allah:

“Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and grant you succession in the land; then He will see how you act”

The opportunity for real change lies in their hands. It is essential that they do not squander this by walking the paths laid out by those who aim to divide and conquer the Ummah.

The time for half-measures and compromises is over. It’s time for the people of al-Sham to live under Islam, as Allah intended.
